The ECOWAS Digital Observatory (ECODOB), is the Management and Information System for Postal and Telecoms/ICT sectors, an ECOWAS Observatory for collecting and managing data indicators for the Posts and Telecoms/ICT sector with the view to support the establishment of a single digital market in West Africa
It is with this objective in mind that the operationalization and reliability of ECODOB remains contingent on frequent updates with accurate information from Member States.

Telecom/ICT contribution and revenue to regional GDP
In 2024, mobile revenue contribution to economic growth in West Africa indicates that mobile technologies and services generated 4.50% of GDP in West Africa – a contribution that amounted to $12.99 billion of economic value added.
The revenue and ICT GDP in 2022 show that Nigeria had the highest revenue generation of $8.7 billion with ICT GDP 13.55% followed by Cote d’Ivoire $1.7 billion and Senegal $937 million.
Liberia had the lowest revenue generation of $44 thousand with GDP 0.24% followed by Cabo Verde $61.7 million with ICT GDP 2.70% and Guinea Bissau with $66.6million ICT GDP 3.40%.
