[Tianjin, April 29, 2020] Huawei Marine Networks (HMN) today announced the kick-off of Senegal Horn of Africa Regional Express (SHARE) Cable. The system, as the first high-capacity direct link from the African continent to the offshore islands of Cape Verde, is expected to be completed in Q1, 2021.

Establishing secured, high-performance, and sustainable digital infrastructures is key for the conception of a single digital market, as they play a pivotal role in advancing the digital economy by addressing issues related to connectivity, access, and technological progress.
This is an essential consideration for the ECOWAS region, particularly in terms of coverage and the cost of digital infrastructure access for the community. This includes internet connectivity, mobile network infrastructure, submarine and terrestrial fibre infrastructures, datacentres, internet exchange points (IXPs), egovernment and cybersecurity facilities.
